25 Random things about me!

I also got this from Facebook...

25 Things

1. Both of my parents are heroes in my eyes.

2. I think it is hilarious to watch my children do things, and then think to myself…I totally would have done/said the same thing if I were in their position!

3. I have a very weird habit of talking out scenarios that could happen if I did or said something. Just a quick example: When the girls ask me where we are going, I will not tell them if it is some where they would rather not go….like clothes shopping. I will wait till about 1 minute before we get there to tell them. The reason for this is because only minutes before we decide to go I have had a conversation in my head going a little something like this:

Daughter: Where are we going?

Me: We are going to get me some new jeans.

Daughter: WHAT? WHY? Do we HAVE to go? Can we not stay at home? Mommy? Mommy? MOMMMMMMY!!! Answer me!!!!!!!!

Me: (pulling my hair out) I am going too far away from the house for you to stay at home, and also because we might find something for you while we are out.

Daughter: I don’t need anything. Seriously Mommy, why can’t we just stay at home?

Me: Because I said so.

Daughter: (now in a seriously crappy mood) YOU ALWAYS SAY THAT!

Me: (wishing I would have waited to tell her until we were closer so that I didn’t have to hear her gripe the whole freaking way to the store)

4. I twirl my hair, and I have 3 different ways of doing so. There’s the bored way, the tired way, and the “I’m processing information” way.

5. I do not like to talk on the phone. I would rather text or email. I am a multi-tasker, and therefore holding a real conversation can be a nuisance.

6. I absolutely must sleep on the side of the bed away from the window.

7. I sleep with 4 strategically placed pillows every night.

8. 2 of my senses are hypersensitive. Hearing and Smelling. Just recently, we went to visit at a friend’s house. I was sitting in the rocker, and out of the blue I smelled super glue. I didn’t say anything, but it was very strong. After a few minutes, I guess I had a pretty bad look on my face…she asked what was the matter. I told her I smelled super glue. Everyone else looked at me like I was crazy, but then she said she had used it way earlier that day. No one else could smell it!

9. I have no regrets, everything no matter if it was good or bad made me who I am today.

10. My toes are constantly cold. They are like little ice cubes. Scotch on the rocks anyone? LOL…eww I know that’s nasty, but I couldn’t help it!

11. Between my crude sense of humor, sarcasm, and extensive vocabulary of profanities, I can sometimes (one could say usually) come across as a bitch.

12. I am a planner. I like routine. Because of the constant randomness in my brain, consistency in my life is a must.

13. I am filling this out, instead of working on a Lit. paper that is due today!

14. I live with constant, chronic back pain that not even the toughest of pain killers will take away.

15. I despise commercials. I TiVo everything so that I do not have to watch live TV.

16. I am majoring in sociology, and love everything about it! I have a knack of thinking outside the “norm” box!

17. I will do things/not do things if I get a “feeling” that I need to. For instance, Morgan used to have ear infections, but she would not complain, run fever, or pull at her ears. Somehow I would know she had an ear infection. Her pediatrician thought I was crazy for bringing her in the first time, until she checked her ears, and said….”OH WOW!!!” From then on, when I said she had one, she never doubted me. She checked her ears, and always in amazement….shook her head and wrote the prescription.

18. I do not wear shoes unless I absolutely have to. (and just to clarify…my toes are like ice cubes even in shoes, so that is not why my toes are cold)

19. I will not wear a coat (no matter how cold it is), unless I know I will be standing outside in the cold for a long period of time.

20. In the morning, my brain is not fully engaged until I have had a diet coke.

21. When I am home, I like it as dark as possible. I could live in a windowless house with no problems.

22. I do not like to use measuring cups. If it requires exact measurements, I will not cook it.

23. I have taken prescription medication to fall asleep for over 6 years.

24. I could play Rock Band all day. (except that my fingers start cramping, and I do have responsibilities)

25. Music is an absolute must in my life. I listen to almost everything. My children are following in my footsteps on this one.

My Mom...by Madilyn and Morgan

Morgan never seizes to amaze me. She is able to hula hoop that thing up to her neck and back down to her waist again! Quite impressive!

Emma and Madilyn mid-pose!

Sorry!!!

Ok, ok, ok.....

I know it's been forever since I posted a blog. I don't like to post without pictures, but I just wanted to let everyone know I was still here!

I am finally finished with this semester. 2 A's and a B. Not to shabby! Finals are over, and I am just now able to sit back and relax a little when I get home. I am taking 3 more classes next semester (starting Jan. 20).

Madilyn and Morgan are anxiously awaiting the holiday break...as am I, of course. We are looking forward to a very relaxing 2 weeks. I cannot wait to sleep in!!!!!!!!!!

Madilyn had a wonderful 11th birthday, getting a slue of things that she really wanted! Thank you to all who made it possible.

As many of you already know....the stomach bug hit us hard! It was the worse thing. I felt so sorry for the girls...because I knew exactly what they were going through. If I was crying in pain...I know it had to be hard on them. Joy never got it (thank goodness). She took care of us all, bless her heart...as well as her stomach!

I have been reading the Twilight series, by Stephenie Meyer. I am almost finished with the second novel. I have the 3rd and 4th waiting for me when I finish. I love this series...I haven't been this interested in ANY book in a very long time. They are long novels, but they read very quickly. I was finally able to see the movie Twilight this weekend. It was good, but I would much rather just stick to the books! Way more details!

If I don't see any of you over the holidays....be safe and make a lot of memories.

State Fair 2008

Ok, I have a ton of pictures from the fair, but I only posted some super cute ones. I didn't realize when I signed up for this blogging thing that I was going to have to deal with the idiotic way that they make you upload your pictures.

We went to the State Fair this year. It has been 4 years since the girls have gone, so it was a major change from when they were 4 and 6. This is also the first year that we have gone as a family, so it was a very special day full of wonderful memories.

I hope you all enjoy the pictures.

This is the girls upon arrival! Bright eyed and bushy tailed! Luckily we were able to take the little tram thing to the gate, because parking was limited. And we got there 1/2 hour after they opened.

Me and the girls...notice my hair is already in a pony...It kept smacking me in my face!

Since the girls were now old enough and tall enough, we decided to do a big ride. Now....prior to this ride...we rode something called the "Love Bug". Sounds innocent right? WRONG!!!! I had massive bruising from that ride...and as a matter of fact it is still there over a month later.

Madilyn was the brave one, and went first. Joy was not looking to great after the "Love Bug" so I was the designated rider. Notice how high this ride was getting....

Morgan's turn....yes...I rode it twice in a row. Corndog anyone?????

We went up...but had to come back down in the middle...someone decided the ride was too much..so this is us mid-ride.

This is us...Morgan is still very very dizzy from the ride...she is hanging on to me pretty tight right here.

My sweet girls...taking a little break.

Ok...here is the story behind this picture. We are at the bird show. First of all...notice you are not looking at a stage. You are looking at the audience. Therefore, you can assume...I AM NOT IN THE AUDIENCE!!!!! That's right...I got brave...I actually raised my hand to get a cool picture, and was called on!!! So...I sat on this bench...I was told to aim my camera right at that point..and then from across the audience flew this massive OWL! (for those of you who do not myspace, my nickname is OWL) I'll tell you that story later. Anyway, I didn't know it was going to be an owl, so it made this picture even more special. This thing flew right at my head and landed only inches above me on this tiny little perch! FYI...wingspan was 4ft...and I did not use the zoom button.

Photo op after the bird show was over.

Me and my girls...in the butterfly exhibit.

The girls were looking at the lily pads...I love this picture.

Madilyn really wanted this picture taken....I think it's super cute.

Back on the tram thingy...sunburned and tired...heading to the car.

In the car...happy to be off our feet. We had a wonderful time at the fair, and are already making plans to go back next year to do all of it again!!!!
